Happy Birthday Chris....

It has been many years since NC has seen snow in March.. and even though they predicted this in the middle of last week, we spent Sunday watching it rain and pour.. our yard was a large pond and the pond spilled over into the spillway.. and not a single flake in the sky. Until 9 pm. Which meant this morning, we woke to this:

Well, Happy Birthday Chris... March came in like a lion.. lets hope the month calms down quickly!

Big Fish...

It is lovely to have an uncle that works at the State Fish Hatchery. That means that when we go for visits, we can fish in the stock ponds. And you catch big fish.

Busy, busy, busy...

The New Year got off to a busy start around here. Zach had his first set of finals midway through January and did quite nicely for the first semester. He is now in the second semester enjoying PE/Health, Cabinetmaking, English, and Print Graphics.

Eli spent the fall learning to play the clarinet because his teacher told him he had to be proficient on that before he could play the saxaphone, the instrument he really wanted to play. So Eli took him at his word and by January was proficient enough to get to start on the Sax. His teacher wants him to keep playing the clarinet through April, when they have a school concert.. he doesn't want to lose a good clarinet player just yet. But, Eli is practicing away at a Tenor Sax that once belonged to his Uncle and is learning rapidly.

There have been boy scout campouts and basketball and many other activities keeping us busy this winter.

Happy Holidays from North Carolina....

As I write this, we are probably the only place in the US not to have snow that should have... I cannot believe how many places that shouldn't have snow have had it... when is our turn?

However, I do notice, that we are the lowest on the thermometer this am... we woke to 16 degrees. It should warm up to 60 by Christmas, but today, it will only be about 32 at the hottest. Brrrr...

Anyway, here is our holiday greeting to you all.. wishing you a blessed and peaceful and prosperous New Year...
